Chapter 2
Moving off of Kevin I made sure not to wake him. He had fallen to sleep which was fine. I looked over at the time and realized that we had spent most of the day in bed without moving. Slowly I moved off the bed and made my way out of the room trying so hard to not to make much noise.
I walked down the hall and headed for the stairs. As soon as I got down them I walked to the kitchen and grabbed the list of groceries we need from the store. I quietly I grabbed keys and made my way to the door, but as I opened the door Kevin wrapped his arms around my waist. "Where are you going?"
"I am heading to get a few things from the store. Want to come along?" I asked weary of his response. His arms had tightened around me as though he was afraid to let me go out of the house. Now things were seriously starting to freak me out. What could have been said that has him this freaked? I rubbed his arm as away to reassure him that everything and myself would be okay.
"Let's go." Kevin spoke. The fear was thick in his voice. I looked up at him, worry and fear of my own shining strong on my face.
What can I do to show him that at this very moment everything we going to be just fine? I didn't know the answer to that and probably wouldn't at this point. I headed out the door quietly as Kevin followed. I watched as his eyes darted around the yard and street. Whatever has Kevin on edge it wasn't good.
Once we reached the car, a blue 1965 Ford Mustang convertible, both of us climbed in. Kevin in the passenger seat and I in the driver's seat. I put the key in the ignition and started the car up pulling slowly out of the driveway.
I eyed Kevin cautiously as I pulled onto the road and headed towards the store. He seemed to be relaxing just a little bit. Still he held strong to his worry.
